ICRC staff member killed in Sri Lanka

A staff member of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) was killed Wednesday in the conflict area of Sri Lanka, the Geneva-based organization said. Sinnathurai Kugathasan, who had been working for ICRC since 2002 as a water technician, was hit by a shell and killed instantly while fetching water in Ampalavanpokanai, on the coastalbelt of the territory held by the Liberation Tigers…
